Cool Jobs in British Columbia #1: RADIUM HOT SPRINGS

Want to go hiking in the mountains on a summer day, visit the hot springs or see some amazing wildlife? Radium Hot Springs is the ideal spot to take advantage of Canada’s natural beauty and get out of your comfort zone by trying new activities. Here’s what Mobilize alumna Raneem had to say about her job placement in Radium:

“Yesterday was my last day of working in Radium Hot Springs and I wanna say that I MET THE MOST ADORABLE PEOPLE WHO WERE MY FAMILY AND MY BEST FRIENDS that I’ll never forget. In my whole life people called me a city girl which is really nice to live in a modern place!! But since I came here and spent the whole 5 months hiking, skiing etc., I’m really in love because I find myself doing the things that I really do like.”

 
  

Location #2: WHISTLER

Does Whistler sound familiar? It’s one of the largest ski resorts in North America and is famous worldwide as a skiing and snowboarding destination. Winter might be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Whistler, but this popular resort town is home to plenty of cool jobs making it the perfect place to experience a one of a kind summer work/travel adventure! Spend time off work hiking, swimming, biking or if you’re feeling brave like Mobilize alumna, Candyce, why not go bungee jumping? There’s no shortage of exciting activities in Whistler.

 

Location #3: REVELSTOKE

Ready to spend your summer work/travel adventure among the beautiful mountains of southeastern BC? Try Revelstoke, a mountain resort town. Whether you spend your free time taking part in a variety of outdoor activities like rock climbing, hiking, trail running and dirt biking or you prefer to visit the farmer’s markets and snap photos of the stunning landscape, there’s always something exciting to do! Mobilize alumna Kelsey had an awesome time in Revelstoke and here’s what she had to say:

“HUGE SHOUT OUT TO MOBILIZE FOR BRINGING THESE AMAZING PEOPLE INTO MY LIFE. This has been the most amazing experience and I can’t wait for another session out in Revelstoke!”

 

Location #4: OSOYOOS

Did you know that Osoyoos is known as Canada’s only desert? This friendly resort town located in the Okanagan Valley is an idyllic place to spend your summer employment adventure. Enjoy breathtaking views, familiarize yourself with the vibrant arts community, and explore the unique history of the town. Alumnus David spent his Mobilize job placement in Osoyoos – check out what he had to say about his time there:

“Beautiful Osoyoos. So happy I got the chance to come back to my childhood home for my work-placement. ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE.”

   

Location #5: GOLDEN

Want to see some spectacular scenery? Situated in the Rockies, Golden is surrounded by six stunning national parks, including Yoho, Glacier, Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Mount Revelstoke. This means there is an unlimited amount of natural beauty to be seen and experienced. If you’ve always wanted to explore the Canadian Rockies in depth, working and living in Golden is for you!

   

Location #6: VALEMOUNT
