Do you already have experience cooking and handling food in a high-volume kitchen environment? Advance your skill set and expand your culinary knowledge with a line cook job. Mobilizer Lagarius Hicks, who is part of our sister program, Mobilize US, spent five years working as a cook, but longed to improve his skills. A job with Mobilize gave him the opportunity he was looking for to try new things in his profession, and grow his culinary abilities.

No kitchen experience? Don’t worry! We are also hiring for kitchen helper jobs and dish washer jobs, and while hospitality experience is always a welcome asset, there is plenty of opportunity to learn while you work.

Mobilize alumnus James Rocheleau came from an architecture and welding background, and was looking to get out of his comfort zone. “I really hadn’t expected to move across the country to work in a chain restaurant,” he says. “But it turned out to be one of the most enriching work experiences I’ve ever had. I started there as a busser and was gradually cross-trained as a kitchen helper and host.” Not only did James gain skills in a field that was entirely unfamiliar to him, but he now sees himself pursuing a career in an industry he had never considered.

   Similarly, Mobilize alumna Sydney Woods started off as a host, and was later trained to do prep and line work in the “back of house” in a kitchen helper job. She says, “This was hands-down the best opportunity I’ve had because it helped me build various skill sets – and it looks great on my resume.”

Sydney Woods was placed in Banff for her employment adventure, where she had the opportunity to go hiking, ride horses in the Rockies, go skiing and snowboarding, and plenty more.

   “I have tried new foods and done activities I never would of done back home, and I got the chance meet a very diverse group of people,” says Mobilize alumna Meaghen Stock.
